Silchar: Marking World Nature Conservation Day with a strong message of environmental responsibility, the Lions Club of Silchar Valley View launched a year-long sapling plantation campaign titled ‘Our Mission Green Revolution’. The green drive began with a plantation programme at Global English School, Gonirgram, in Cachar district.
As part of the campaign, the club has set a target of planting 500 saplings across various parts of the district during the Lionistic Year 2025–26. Emphasising both planting and preservation, the club also aims to ensure that at least 80% of the saplings survive and thrive.
The inaugural event saw ten saplings planted within a protected area of the school campus. Members of the club actively participated in the drive and reiterated their commitment to environmental sustainability, vowing to carry the mission forward throughout the year.
