Similar to the demand for Kukiland in Manipur, the Miya community, who are illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, have raised a demand for “Miyaland” in Assam. The Assam Accord defines post-1971 infiltrators as illegal, amidst historical migration following the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.

The ongoing eviction drive in Assam should be intensified to crush all these attempts to break the North East. While Manipur has also undertaken strong measures to detect and deport illegal immigrants under the leadership of Shri @NBirenSingh , the rest of the North East states should launch a similar crackdown against such threats.
