Silchar: In celebration of the 79th Independence Day and as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the District Administration, Cachar, has urged traders, business owners, and residents to join hands in showcasing a grand display of patriotism across the district.

The administration has requested all traders in municipal markets, licensed business establishments, hotels, malls, and commercial outlets to proudly hoist or display the National Flag at their premises between August 13 and August 15, 2025. Flags must be made strictly from non–Single Use Plastic (SUP) materials, in line with environmental regulations.

As an act of goodwill, business owners are encouraged to donate the Tiranga to underprivileged citizens, ensuring inclusivity and enabling everyone to be part of the celebrations.

To further enhance the festive spirit, hotels, malls, and other prominent establishments have been invited to illuminate their premises in the colours of the Tiranga. Decorative lighting, patriotic motifs, and thematic displays are expected to transform Cachar into a vibrant and radiant symbol of unity and national pride.

Independence Day is not only a time to honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters but also an occasion to reaffirm our collective commitment to a progressive, inclusive, and harmonious future. A district adorned in the hues of the National Flag will serve as a living tribute to the unity and patriotism of the people of Cachar, inspiring both visitors and future generations.

The District Administration has appealed for wholehearted cooperation from all stakeholders to make Independence Day 2025 a dignified and memorable celebration. Together, let us honour our past and brighten our future by letting Cachar shine proudly in the colours of our Tiranga.
