Silchar: The Silchar Division Insurance Employees’ Association will hold its 42nd General Conference on August 22 and 23 at a marriage hall in Rangirkhari, Silchar.

The two-day conference will deliberate on the present and future of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) against the backdrop of prevailing international and national circumstances. Apart from employee-related issues, the forum will also discuss a range of public concerns.

More than a hundred delegates from across the Barak Valley, Haflong, Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram are expected to take part. The event will feature addresses by Amitava Ghosh, general secretary of the Eastern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association, and treasurer Shubhendu Chatterjee.

Adding prominence to the conference, former Assam University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, who chairs the reception committee, will also deliver an address. The Association has extended invitations to its members and well-wishers to join the two-day deliberations.
