INDIAN ARMY SALUTES MANIPUR’S VIR CHAKRA HERO

Kohima /Nagaland : In a heartfelt celebration of courage and pride, the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army honoured Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik of the Indian Air Force at a special ceremony held at Leimakhong Military Station, Manipur.

The gathering, hosted by the GOC applauded the achievements of the officer, whose journey from the hills of Keikhu to the skies of national defence has inspired numerous youth. Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 2015 as a fighter pilot, Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik was awarded the prestigious Vir Chakra on the 79th Independence Day for his daring strikes during Operation Sindoor.

He is an alumnus of Sainik School Imphal and the National Defence Academy, Squadron Leader Malik embodies Manipur’s proud legacy of service to the nation.

His achievements mirror the aspirations of a region that has consistently upheld honour and distinction in safeguarding India’s frontiers. Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating the bravery of the region’s youth and nurturing future leaders.
