Guwahati: The investigation into the death of iconic Assamese singer Zubeen Garg has entered a crucial stage, with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) reportedly identifying a “definite angle” after receiving the viscera report from the Central Forensic Laboratory in Delhi.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, speaking during a Facebook Live session on Sunday evening, said the forensic findings have shed new light on the case. “Now the CID has got a definite angle into the case, and within a few days, the entire chronology of Zubeen Garg’s death will be presented before the court,” the Chief Minister said.

Sarma added that four Assamese expatriates, who were allegedly present during the singer’s final moments, are expected to reach Guwahati on Monday to record their statements with the CID. Their testimonies are expected to play a key role in piecing together the final details of the investigation.

Zubeen Garg’s sudden death sent shockwaves across Assam and the Assamese-speaking world, with fans and admirers continuing to seek clarity on the circumstances surrounding his passing. The CID’s latest findings are now expected to bring the long-awaited answers closer to light.
