Tripura CM Orders Interim Relief for 55 Families Affected by Santirbazar Violence

Agartala: The Tripura government has sanctioned interim relief for 55 individuals affected by the recent mob violence in Santirbazar under Kamalpur Sub-Division of Dhalai district, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha announced.

An official order from the District Magistrate and Collector, Dhalai, confirmed that a total of ₹6.6 lakh has been approved as ex-gratia assistance for victims of the incident that occurred on October 23. Compensation will be distributed based on the extent of loss: Rs.25,000 each for five cases of major damage, Rs.15,000 each for seven cases of moderate damage, and Rs.10,000 each for 43 cases of minor damage. Payments will be processed through the DM’s office in line with the approved financial memorandum.

Dr. Saha said, “Interim relief has been provided to the affected individuals. Additional assistance will be considered following a detailed assessment of the damage, in accordance with government norms.”

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kamalpur has been directed to ensure that no affected person is left out of the compensation list, allowing genuine victims to claim relief by presenting the necessary evidence.
