Silchar : Under the Chief Minister’s Nagoriya Pokipath Nirman Achoni (Urban Road Construction Scheme), the foundation stone for the new road from Ashram Road and C.R. Avenue Junction to Tapoban Nagar was laid by Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty on Monday.
The project, which will be implemented at a cost of Rs.1.48 crore, aims to improve connectivity and ease traffic movement in the area. The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Silchar Block Mandal president Piklu Das, Rajesh Kumar Das, Shyamal Das, and several other local leaders and residents.
Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on upgrading urban infrastructure and improving civic amenities across Silchar.
