Imphal: The National Award-winning Manipuri film Eikhoigi Yum (Our Home), directed by Romi Meitei, has been officially selected for screening at the Telangana–North East India Connect: Techno-Cultural Festival to be held in Hyderabad later this month.

The two-day festival, organised under the aegis of Raj Bhavan, Telangana, will be hosted at Prasad Multiplex on November 21 and 22, 2025. It aims to foster cultural exchange and cinematic collaboration between Telangana and the North Eastern states through the theme “Connecting Cultures, Creating Futures.”

Eikhoigi Yum, celebrated for its sensitive portrayal of Manipuri family life and cultural values, will be showcased alongside select Telugu and North Eastern films that reflect the diversity of regional cinema in India.

Director Romi Meitei, who also serves as an Executive Board Member of the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), has played a key role in shaping Manipuri cinema both through his creative work and policy guidance within the Society.

In a statement, MSFDS expressed pride in the film’s selection, calling it “a reaffirmation of Manipuri cinema’s growing recognition as a vital and creative force in Indian regional filmmaking.”

The festival, held under the patronage of the Governor of Telangana, seeks to strengthen people-to-people connections through culture, creativity, and innovation.

MSFDS extended congratulations to Romi Meitei, describing the selection as a proud moment for Manipuri cinema and a tribute to its evolving artistic legacy.
