Gangtok: A delegation of the North East Integration Rally (NEIR), led by Biswadeep Gupta, founder of KRC Foundation, met Rimp Dorjee Lepcha, the Chief Engineer of the Department of Culture, as part of the rally’s official engagements.

During the meeting, the team briefed the Chief Engineer on the vision and activities of NEIR, which aims to promote cultural exchange, regional integration, and community participation across the Northeast. The Chief Engineer appreciated the initiative and extended his support to the visiting delegation.

The Chief Engineer expressed particular interest in the HAM Radio initiative associated with NEIR, describing it as a valuable tool for communication, learning, and public engagement. The Chief Engineer assured that the department would explore ways to take the initiative forward in collaboration with the KRC Foundation in the future.

The Chief Engineer also stated that the Department of Culture would explore the possibility of sending a cultural team to participate in the closing ceremony of NEIR, scheduled to be held in Guwahati on February 4.

The North East Integration Rally was flagged off from Kolkata on January 4 and will conclude in Guwahati after traversing several Northeastern states.
