New Delhi: Assam marked a proud and historic moment at the 77th Republic Day celebrations as its tableau led the procession at Kartavya Path on Sunday.

The tableau showcased the GI-tagged Asharikandi terracotta craft of Dhubri, highlighting Assam’s rich river-based civilisation, traditional pottery art, and the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The display drew wide attention for its earthy visuals and strong cultural message.

From finishing last in earlier years to leading the parade this time, Assam’s position at the front symbolised its growing role in the nation’s cultural and development journey.

The moment brought a sense of rare joy and pride, celebrating Assam’s heritage and its rising place in Bharat’s growth story.
