Silchar: The Silchar–Rangiya Express, Train No. 15612/15611, was formally flagged off after being upgraded to a modern LHB rake, marking a key step in improving rail services in the Barak Valley region of Assam.

The upgraded Linke Hofmann Busch coaches are expected to provide better safety, improved comfort, and a smoother travel experience for passengers. The move is seen as part of the ongoing efforts to modernize railway infrastructure in the Northeast.

Speakers at the event expressed gratitude to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the continued development of railway services in the region.
