The government is fully prepared and now awaits the Synod’s final response

Mizoram: A key de-addiction facility in Mizoram is set to come under church management.Social Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii informed the Assembly on Wednesday that the state government will hand over the Jordan Centre in Kolasib district to the Presbyterian Church.
She said an agreement has already been signed with the Synod, which is the church’s top decision making body. The formal transfer will happen soon.
“The government is fully prepared and now awaits the Synod’s final response. The Synod has already kept Rs 2 crore in its budget for this,” Lalrinpuii told the House while replying to questions from the opposition. The move is expected to strengthen community-based rehabilitation support in the state.
