Silchar: Silchar is set to welcome India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi next month, with preparations now underway for a major public gathering.

On Saturday, Minister Kaushik Rai visited the proposed venue along with senior administrative officials to review readiness for the event.

During the inspection, the minister directed officials to take all necessary steps to ensure smooth arrangements for the upcoming meeting. He stressed the need for proper planning and coordination so that the programme can be conducted without any difficulty.

ADC Rajib Roy and senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party Bijendra Prasad Singh were also present during the site visit.

Officials have begun groundwork for logistics and infrastructure as the town gears up for the Prime Minister’s visit.
