Silchar: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is set to visit Silchar on March 27, where he will attend a major political event organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The programme will be held at the Silchar Sporting Club ground at 11 am.

The event is being organised in support of BJP’s Silchar Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) candidate, Dr Rajdeep Roy. Party leaders said the gathering is expected to draw a large number of supporters and workers from across the region.

All party karyakartas have been invited to attend the programme and take part in what is being described as a mega event ahead of the upcoming elections. Senior BJP leaders and local functionaries are also expected to be present during the occasion.

The visit of the Union Minister is seen as a key boost to the party’s campaign efforts in the Barak Valley region, as the BJP intensifies its outreach ahead of the polls.
