Karimganj: The Election Commission has set aside the polling held at a booth in the Karimganj North Assembly constituency after complaints of irregularities surfaced.

According to an official order, the Commission took the step after reviewing reports related to the April 9 voting. It said that, upon examination, there were sufficient reasons to cancel the poll at the concerned centre.
Fresh polling will be held on April 11 (Saturday) at polling station number 239, Babyland High English School. Voting will be conducted from 7 am to 5 pm.
Officials have been instructed to ensure wide publicity of the repoll in the area. The Commission has also directed that all political parties and contesting candidates be informed in writing.
Returning Officers have been asked to strictly follow the directives, while observers and district election authorities have been alerted to oversee the process and ensure smooth conduct of the repoll.
