Groups Urge PM Modi for Urgent Intervention

KRC TIMES National Bureau

New Delhi: Rising anger over the ongoing violence in Manipur has reached the national capital, with civil society groups intensifying pressure on the Centre for immediate action.

Four Delhi-based organisations representing Manipuri communities have submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking urgent intervention over alleged state support to Kuki militants.

The appeal comes in the wake of the April 7 Tronglaobi attack, in which two Meitei children were killed. The incident has further escalated demands for accountability and justice, while deepening concerns over the continuing unrest in the state.

In their memorandum, the groups highlighted repeated attacks since 2023 and questioned the role of security forces in handling the crisis. They have called for restoring the rule of law, disarming militants operating under Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreements, and ensuring transparent and time-bound investigations into recent incidents.

The development reflects growing national attention on the prolonged conflict in Manipur, even as calls for decisive intervention continue to mount from different sections of society.
