Manipur: A 30-year-old man was injured in a firing incident at Sinakeithei village in Manipur’s hill district, underscoring the continuing fragility of the security situation in the region.
According to local sources, the man was hit by a bullet while inside the village. Residents alleged that the firing came from armed groups positioned in bunkers on nearby hilltops.
Villagers said that despite the presence of security forces and regular patrols, such incidents have persisted over the past two months. They expressed concern over what they described as gaps in protection and delayed response.
The repeated episodes of violence have heightened fear among residents, many of whom said they are now focused on safeguarding their homes amid ongoing tensions in the area.
