Axis My India Exit Poll Predicts Big Win

KRC TIMES Assam Bureau

Guwahati: The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on course to return to power in Assam for a third consecutive term, according to an exit poll released by Axis My India following the 2026 Assembly elections.

The survey projects a sweeping victory for the ruling alliance, estimating that the NDA could secure between 88 and 100 seats in the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly. This places the alliance comfortably above the majority mark, indicating a strong mandate in its favour.

In contrast, the Congress-led opposition alliance is expected to trail significantly, with projections placing it between 24 and 36 seats.

In terms of vote share, the exit poll estimates the NDA at 48 per cent, well ahead of the Congress+ alliance at 38 per cent. Other parties and independent candidates are projected to account for the remaining 14 per cent.

If the projections hold true when official results are declared, the NDA’s performance would mark a decisive political continuity in the state, reinforcing its dominance in Assam’s electoral landscape.
