Condemns Kangpokpi Attack

Imphal: Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Wednesday visited the injured persons undergoing treatment at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute and interacted with their family members following the deadly attack on Thadou church leaders in Kangpokpi district.

Describing the condition of the injured as “heartbreaking”, Biren Singh assured them of all possible support and conveyed his prayers and condolences to the bereaved families and the church community.

Expressing deep sorrow over the killings, the former chief minister termed the incident a brutal act of violence against innocent civilians. In a statement, he said the attack had caused immense pain at a time when people across the state were praying for peace and normalcy.

He further stressed that violence against innocent civilians can never be justified and urged the authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice at the earliest.
