Thimphu, Bhutan: Addressing the 7th Global Summit on Innovation for Peace & Sustainable Growth–2026, organized by the Global Leaders Foundation, India, at the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Thimphu, Bhutan, former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Propounder Needonomics School of Thought and superannuated Professor of Kurukshetra University, delivered a keynote address on “Gita-Inspired Needonomics: An Innovative Framework for Sustainable Growth in Goodness Mode of AI.”
HE Sandeep Arya Ambassador of India to Kingdom of Bhutan presided as Chief Guest. Ramesh Chander Tripathi delivered the welcome address and introduced the speakers. On this occasion Prof Goel was conferred Pride of Asia Award for excellence in Higher Education.
Prof. Goel emphasized that while Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technologies, and globalization have created unprecedented opportunities for economic growth and connectivity, they have simultaneously intensified challenges such as consumerism, ecological degradation, inequality, mental stress, social fragmentation, and ethical dilemmas.
Prof. Goel advocated a shift from greed-based economics to need-based development with economic systems focusing on fulfilling genuine human needs
Prof. Goel emphasized the need for a transformative shift from the “Monkey Mind” of chaos, anxiety, distraction, and greed to the “Monk Mind” of clarity, compassion, discipline, and purpose in AI era.
“Gita-inspired Needonomics advocates a shift from greed to goodness, from competition to cooperation, and from unlimited wants to responsible fulfillment of needs. In the age of Artificial Intelligence, the integration of Spiritual Intelligence with technological advancement is essential for sustainable progress,” Prof. Goel remarked.

Calling for the creation of a “Needonomic Civilization” founded on the pillars of Dharma, Dignity, Discipline, and Sustainable Growth in Goodness, Prof. Goel emphasized that the future belongs to ethically awakened human beings and that AI must serve as an instrument of human welfare guided by wisdom, compassion, and responsibility.
