Among those present at the event were Ajay Kumar Bhalla and the First Lady, who attended in a private capacity. Reigning Miss Universe India 2025 holder Manika Vishwakarma was also part of the judging panel.
Speaking after her victory, an emotional Thadoi described the win as the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream. She reflected on her journey, recalling that she had participated in the competition the previous year but was unable to secure the title.
“I failed last year, but still I never gave up, and my resilience has finally been proven. That’s why I’m here again,” she said.
Thadoi credited her success to the unwavering support of her family, teachers and friends, describing the achievement as the result of a collective effort. She said her next goal is to represent Manipur with pride on the national stage.
Beyond the competition, the pageant highlighted themes of self-acceptance, confidence and inner beauty, encouraging contestants to share personal stories about overcoming challenges, fear and self-doubt.
Vishwakarma praised the finalists for their confidence and clarity of thought, noting that many contestants demonstrated a strong sense of purpose and an ability to communicate important social messages.
Referring to the state’s recent challenges, she said the contestants were well-positioned to showcase Manipur’s story and aspirations to a wider audience. She added that past titleholders and the newly crowned winner have helped project values associated with the state, including unity, compassion and resilience.
With the state title now secured, Thadoi will represent Manipur at the Miss Universe India 2026 competition, where she will compete for a chance to advance to the international stage while carrying the hopes and aspirations of her home state.
