Itanagar: In a major initiative to promote adventure tourism and accelerate development in Arunachal Pradesh’s border regions, Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday flagged off ‘Op Arunoday’ from the historic Jaswantgarh War Memorial.
The initiative is a joint effort of the Gajraj Corps and the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS). It aims to develop the trekking route connecting Thingbu with Bajrang Peak (Point 5583), enhancing the state’s adventure tourism potential.
The project also seeks to strengthen military-civil cooperation while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for people living in remote frontier areas through tourism and related activities.
