Agartala : Heavy rainfall across parts of Tripura over the past 24 hours has damaged around 300 houses and forced more than 3,100 people to take shelter in relief camps as rising river levels triggered flooding in several districts.
According to official reports, a total of 300 houses were damaged in the worst-affected districts of Dhalai, Khowai and Unakoti. Of these, 44 houses were completely destroyed, 70 sustained severe damage and 186 were partially damaged.
