The arrests are linked to the police raid carried out on June 25, during which around 28 women were detained from the two establishments as part of an investigation into alleged human trafficking and prostitution activities.

Police said the two accused had remained absconding following the raid before being traced and arrested during the latest operation.

Officials added that the investigation is continuing to uncover the full extent of the alleged racket and identify any other persons involved.

The June 25 operation had sparked widespread attention in Silchar after police conducted simultaneous raids on the two spa centres following specific intelligence inputs. Further legal proceedings are underway.
