New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to grant an urgent hearing on a petition seeking a court-monitored investigation into the alleged police action against students during the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in Delhi over the NEET paper leak issue.

The matter was mentioned before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, who declined the request for immediate listing. While rejecting the plea for urgent hearing, the Chief Justice remarked, “Don’t waste our time, and don’t waste your time.”

When the petitioner’s counsel referred to videos purportedly showing police action against the protesters, the Chief Justice said, “We are not interested in videos; we don’t have time to watch.”

The petition alleged that the police used excessive force against students protesting over the alleged NEET paper leak. The demonstrators had demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and called for comprehensive reforms in the examination system and the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The Supreme Court’s refusal to urgently hear the matter comes a day after the Delhi High Court also declined to grant an urgent hearing on a similar petition challenging the alleged police action during the protest.
