New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking accountability over the alleged use of pellet guns, tear gas and force against students protesting in Delhi.
In his letter, Rahul Gandhi questioned whether the use of what he described as “lethal force” against the protesters had received official approval. He also asked who authorised the police action and demanded clarity on the chain of command behind the crackdown.
The Congress leader raised concerns over the handling of the student protests and urged the Union Home Minister to explain the circumstances under which force was used. He called for accountability and transparency, saying the public deserves to know who was responsible for ordering the action.
The letter comes amid political controversy over the police response to the protests, with the Opposition accusing the government of using excessive force against students.
