Silchar: The Assam government has launched the Self-Enumeration facility for Census 2027, allowing residents to submit their household and individual details online through the official Census portal.

The online self-enumeration process began on Saturday and will remain open until August 16. The initiative is aimed at making the Census more convenient, participatory and citizen-friendly by enabling people to complete the process from their homes before the physical verification begins.

Citizens can register on the portal, provide household and personal details, and receive a unique reference number after submitting the information.

Following the self-enumeration phase, trained enumerators will carry out the Houselisting Operation and Housing Census across the state from August 17 to September 15. During this period, the information submitted online will be verified and confirmed. The initiative is expected to streamline the Census process and improve the accuracy of data collection.
