Guwahati: Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport (LGBIA) on Tuesday inaugurated its first direct flight service between Guwahati and Deoghar, marking a significant step towards improving regional air connectivity.

The new route strengthens links between Northeast India and Jharkhand, offering passengers a faster and more convenient travel option between the two regions.

Airport authorities said the direct flight is expected to boost tourism, pilgrimage, trade and cultural exchanges by making travel easier for residents, business travellers and visitors.

The launch of the Guwahati-Deoghar service is part of ongoing efforts to enhance regional connectivity and improve access to key destinations across the country through expanded air services.
