Agartala | The Tripura Election Department has intensified preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which is scheduled to begin across the state from September 5.
Chief Electoral Officer Brijesh Pandey and Additional Chief Electoral Officer Usa Jen Mog reviewed the preparedness for the exercise during a video conference with all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) on August 28.
The meeting focused on administrative arrangements and the use of technology to ensure that the revision of electoral rolls is carried out accurately and transparently across all districts. Officials reviewed the measures required to conduct the exercise smoothly and discussed steps to ensure uniform implementation throughout the state.
The Election Department said particular emphasis would be placed on accuracy, transparency and inclusion, with efforts to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls during the revision process. The district-level election machinery has been asked to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the September 5 commencement of the exercise.
The SIR is expected to involve detailed verification and updating of electoral roll data, with officials working to strengthen the accuracy and reliability of voter records across Tripura. The state Election Department said close coordination among DEOs, EROs and other officials would be crucial for completing the revision process effectively.
