Silchar: The Lions Club of Silchar Valley View organised four different projects at schools across the district on Monday as part of the Rohit Mehta Lions Quest Week 2026.

An essay competition on the topic “My Ideal Personality” was held at Gyanjyoti Multipurpose Public School at Bisfuti, Silchar. Students took part in the competition with enthusiasm. Project Chairperson Biplab Chakraborty and Vice President (1) Anup Roy coordinated the programme with the support of Principal Sipra Gupta and others.

A plantation drive and an awareness programme on global warming were also organised at Itkhola Hindi Pathsala in Silchar. Students were encouraged to take part in social service activities. Eleven saplings were planted inside the school premises in the presence of Club President Sanjeev Roy, Vice President (2) Minara Laskar, Project Chairperson Pushpabati Roy, teachers Sunita Baroi and Sangita Das.

An art competition on “National Integration” was organised at Holy Cross School, Borkhola, where 32 students participated. Project Chairperson Sibu Chandra Das and Co-Chairperson Jahurul Islam Barbhuiya coordinated the event with the support of school Principal Pankaj Chowlek.

The fourth programme was a speech deliberation on “Me in the Mirror”, in which 50 students actively participated. Students shared their thoughts and views about themselves. Project Chairperson Bandita Trivedi Roy and Co-Project Chairperson Subir Dey coordinated the programme.

Club Secretary Pinky Singh Das thanked the authorities of all the participating institutions for their support in making the four programmes successful.
