Imphal: The overnight protest agitation by women vendors of Khwairamband Ima Market in Manipur entered its second day on Wednesday, with the protesters demanding the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the Census.

The second day of the protest was organised under the aegis of the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation at Ima Market in Imphal. A large number of women vendors continued their day-and-night protest, reiterating their demand that the NRC process should be completed before the Census is conducted.

The protesters said their demand was linked to concerns over demographic changes and the need to ensure a fair and transparent process. The agitation is continuing at the historic Ima Market as the women vendors seek action from the authorities on their demand.
