Silchar: A cancer awareness programme was organised at Bam Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School, Bhaga Bazar, on Wednesday by the Lions Club of Silchar Valley View in collaboration with Silchar Cancer Centre, a Tata initiative.

During the programme, Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Zonal Coordinator of Silchar Cancer Centre, and Dawngi Darlong, Staff Nurse, conducted an informative session on various aspects of cancer. They spoke about preventive measures, early awareness, healthy practices and the steps to be taken to reduce the risk of the disease. They also highlighted things that should and should not be done in matters related to cancer prevention.

Vice-President of Lions Club of Silchar Valley View Anup Roy, who was in charge of the programme, thanked the principal, teachers and non-teaching staff of the school for their support and cooperation in making the awareness programme successful.

The programme aimed to spread awareness about cancer prevention and encourage people to adopt healthier practices.
