Imphal: The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Imphal International Airport, is observing a 24-day Yatri Seva Abhiyan aimed at improving passenger services and promoting a culture of service, cleanliness, cooperation and courtesy at the airport. The campaign focuses on passenger facilitation, service quality, safety, cleanliness, hygiene and hospitality. AAI officials, airlines, security agencies, concessionaires and other stakeholders are taking part in various activities during the campaign.
Special attention is being given to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, families, first-time travellers and passengers requiring assistance. The airport is also conducting cleanliness and hygiene drives across the terminal and passenger areas. As part of the initiative, awareness programmes and passenger engagement activities are being organised to improve coordination and address passenger concerns in a timely manner. Safety awareness and safe practices among passengers, staff and stakeholders are also being promoted.
The campaign also seeks to showcase Manipur’s rich cultural heritage. Opportunities are being provided for local artisans to display and sell handloom, handicrafts and traditional products. Local food items are also being promoted at the airport. The Airport Director, Imphal International Airport, said the campaign was not merely a 24-day activity but an effort to develop a lasting culture of passenger care.
“Every passenger interaction is an opportunity to serve with professionalism, empathy and courtesy, while upholding the highest standards of safety and security,” the Airport Director said. The AAI said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to keeping passengers at the centre of airport operations and making service quality, cleanliness, safety and courtesy an integral part of everyday airport functioning.
