SILCHAR: Ahead of the Kali Puja and Diwali celebrations, the Silchar Municipal Corporation (SMC) carried out a special road-cleaning drive across various parts of the city using modern Mechanical Road Sweeper vehicles.

The drive aimed to remove accumulated dust, dirt and debris from roads and ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for residents during the festive season.

The initiative was led by SMC Deputy Mayor Bijendra Prasad Singh. The deployment of modern mechanical sweepers was part of the corporation’s efforts to improve urban cleanliness and provide better civic amenities to the people.

The SMC reiterated its commitment to the city’s development, cleanliness and the comfort and convenience of its citizens.
