Dimapur : Organic Ginger Consignment from Dimapur to Odishawas flagged off by Advisor of Agriculture of Nagaland Government, MhathungYanthan on 15th April, which was marketed by Wokhaland Organic Ginger Producer Company Limited under the Mission of Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region Phase III with the support from the Department of Agriculture and Government of Nagaland and service provider by COLKS (Centre of learning, Knowledge, and Services)

Yanthan said that locally 70% of agriculture is taking place in the state, and with this advantage, jhum cultivation is producing different varieties of organic crops. He said that 23000 farmers have benefited by supporting farmers in inputs, technology, and hand-to-hand holding of training.

All these training facilities have been provided through this program. He also mentioned that another phase will be starting soon this year and with the help of the three services provider like COLKS, GREEN CARAVAN, AND ENTREPRENEURS ASSOCIATION where these three are playing a big role in the grassroots being linked with the farmers to deal with the companies.

A total of 380 villages have been covered and have seen some improvement throughout the past years. The important commercial crops were ginger, turmeric, naga king chili, brown rice, etc.
