Samiran Roy ,Dhaka: Cyclone Mocha has wreaked its havoc at Coxbazar area in Bangladesh. Situation is likely to be improved at Coxbazar and the weather department has decided to climb down and asked the officials to press for alert 3.
A similar alert has been sounded for Chittagong and Payra ports. Massive destruction has been reported from Coxbazar. Two persons have fallen to Mocha at Saint Martin.
Around 12 thousand houses have been destroyed at Coxbazar. Around 3.34 lakh people have suffered in this deadly cyclonic storm.
“More than 10 thousand houses have been destroyed at Coxbazar. Many mud houses have been destroyed as well,” said the district collector of Coxbazar Mohammad Shahin Imran.
Though weather department reportedly said that the cyclone will tone down its speed from Sunday evening, despite this massive destruction took place at Coxbazar, sources said.
