Shilpgram Mahotsav by NEZCC starts today

A National Dance, Music Festival

The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, set up its Shilpgram (Craft Village) in 2006, at Panjabari, Guwahati. The NEZCC Organizes Shilpgram Mahotsav consisting of a Cultural programme, exhibition cum sale of crafts and traditional cuisine every year marking its foundation day. This year the Shilpgram Mahotsav is being organised from 17th to 21st January at NEZCC Shilpgram Complex, Panjabari, Guwahati on its 20th Foundation Day.

The festival will showcase a beautiful choreographic presentation choreographed by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, Director, NEZCC, Dr. Prashanna Gogoi entitled “Colours of India” of Classical, folk and tribal dance presentation with live music from 8 North Eastern States and representation of all the Zonal Cultural centre including states, i.e, Gujarat, Telangana, Haryana, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh & Punjab from 17th to 21st January followed by  Bridging of Folk & Classical Dances, Folk Musical ensemble.

On the other hand, Children’s Activities like painting, poetry recitation, singing, and dancing will be conducted every day during the festival. The traditional food festival and craft exhibition will be presented for visitors every day as well. Entry will be free and open to all. All are requested to come and witness the mega festival.
