Katigorah : Irregularities in Water Supply Project at Nij Katigorah, Cachar – Residents in Crisis, Seek Help from Circle Officer

Residents of Nij Katigorah Part III in Cachar district are up in arms over alleged large-scale irregularities and mismanagement in a local water supply project. Ongoing irregular and contaminated water supply has left the area facing a severe water crisis.

Frustrated locals have submitted a memorandum to the Katigorah Revenue Circle Officer, detailing various complaints against the mismanagement of the project. The memorandum points out that the facility is practically defunct due to a broken gate, abandoned equipment, and the deteriorating condition of the reservoir.

Residents have reported that the water supplied is often muddy and foul-smelling, posing serious health risks. Despite government funds being allocated, the community claims they have not received any real benefits from the project.

They have demanded an on-site inspection of the facility and urged authorities to restore its functionality and ensure the supply of safe drinking water.
