Nine year old dies of Japanese Encephalitis

Diphu : The first Japanese Encephalitis death has been reported from Diphu Medical College and Hospital on July 12. This was the first death officially confirmed by the authorities. The victim is a nine-year-old girl, Martina Teronpi, resident of Disama Rong-Ali village. Deceased was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Diphu Medical College and Hospital on July 7 after developing syndromes of Japanese Encephalitis  infection. She gave in to the illness on July 12.

In the middle of reports of Japanese Encephalitis from different parts of the district, the District Health Society functioning under National Health Mission has begun a wide-ranging control and consciousness drive to restrain the spread.
