Kaithal : RKSD College, Kaithal organized an expert lecture by Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Propounder Needonomics School of Thought, former Vice-Chancellor (thrice), and superannuated Professor of Kurukshetra University, on “Analysis of Union Budget 2026–27: A Needonomics Perspective.”

The programme was presided over by Dr. Gagan Mittal, Principal of the College. He formally welcome and introduced the Speaker Prof. Dr. M.M Goel. College President Sh. Ashwani Shorewala appreciated the efforts of the department of Economics to invite Prof. Dr. M.M. Goel for extension lecture.

Dr. Suraj Walia, Head ,Department of Economics, proposed vote of thanks, Dr. Ritu Kang Walia conducted the stage. Prof. Goel described the Union Budget 2026–27 of the size of Rs.53,47,315 crore as necessary but not sufficient to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat.

He emphasized the need to redefine the financial year from July 1 to June 30 to better align fiscal planning with India’s priorities as a knowledge economy for becoming Viksit Bharat. Needonomist Goel cautioned that excessive reliance on sops makes policies appear “fishy” rather than transformative.

Highlighting taxpayers’ contribution, Prof GoelU noted that income-tax payers constitute only 2.6 percent ( out of 6.68% filed ITRs) of India’s population and deserve targeted institutional support.

Justifying the 15 percent increase in defence expenditure, he stressed that national security must also address internal challenges such as unemployment and under-employment, particularly in agriculture, echoing the spirit of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.”

Prof. Goel also highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in governance, stressed ethical oversight, advocated effective utilization of the education cess, supported gender budgeting, and urged all stakeholders to become street- SMART—simple, moral, action-oriented, responsive, and transparent—for realizing Viksit Bharat.

On this occasion Dr. Harinder Gupta, principal Incharge evening session, Dr. Meenu Aggarwal , Dr. Manoj Bansal, Ms. Dinky and Ms. Neelam were also present.
