Indian culture has undergone significant transformations due to modernity, driven by globalization, technological advancements, urbanization, and economic growth. The key evolvement that we can observe is balancing traditional values with modern influences such as family structure and values
From traditional joint families to the modern shift to nuclear families. Increased education and workforce participation have empowered women, shifting away from patriarchal norms that often limited women to domestic roles. Western clothing, dating apps and social media have normalized pre-marital relationships. Smartphones, social media, and OTT platforms have revolutionized entertainment. Digital connectivity has made youth more exposed to Western culture.
With the evolving modern world, it is often seen that traditional values are eroding. Many Indians navigate a hybrid identity, blending global influences with cultural roots. While religion remains integral,
urban youth often adopt a more spiritual outlook, focusing on personal growth over ritualistic practices; traditional festivals like Diwali and Holi retain vibrancy. Remote work and global opportunities have redefined professional aspirations, though academic pressure remains high.
Some fear the loss of traditional values, languages, and art forms due to Westernization. Many Indians navigate a hybrid identity, blending global influences with cultural roots.
Indian culture is evolving into a dynamic blend of tradition and modernity. While urban youth embrace global trends, traditional values like family, spirituality, and community remain resilient, creating a unique cultural synthesis. This adaptability ensures that Indian culture remains vibrant amid rapid change.
The SanatanSammelan 2025 with the theme: Peace, Progress & Prosperity will bring in stakeholders from various Hindu organisations to deliberate on the real issue of bringing a lasting solution to the state of Manipur and showcase the rich traditional fabric of the Manipuri society, which co-exists amongst multiple ethnic communities.
It is our destiny that His Holiness JagadguruShankaracharya Swami AmritanandaDevteerthaJiMaharaj of Shrimad JagadguruShardaSarvagyaPitham Jammu & Kashmir has kindly consented for his divine presence at Imphal on from 24th May-27th May 2025 along with others distinguished dignitaries.
A Think Tank Session with His Holiness is also being organised to deliberate on issues that impact our society at large and to present the way of life of Manipur
We are fortunate enough that His Holiness will inaugurate the Manipur Pranth office of Shrimad JagadguruShardaSarvagyaPitham Jammu & Kashmir.
He will also address a gathering at INA Martyrs’ Memorial Complex, Moirang, visit relief camps, and interact with devotees and people from all walks of life.
We wish our state of Manipur and NE at large to move towards peace, progress and development. As the initiator of the Barak-Manipur Friendship Association, it is our sincere intention to contribute in the socio-economic growth of our state of Manipur and the NE India region as a whole.
