Cachar Administration and DDMA step up preparedness for safe festivities

Silchar: To ensure smooth coordination and quick response during Durga Puja, the Cachar District Administration, under the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), has activated its District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) on a round-the-clock basis.
According to an official order from the Office of the District Commissioner-cum-Chairperson, DDMA, Cachar, the control room will operate 24 hours from September 28 to October 3, 2025. The move is intended to handle any emergency during the celebrations, which draw large public gatherings across the district.
The DEOC will be staffed by DDMA officials working in shifts to ensure uninterrupted monitoring and coordination. They have been instructed to maintain detailed records of all communications and keep the District Commissioner and other authorities regularly updated.
The order, issued by the Additional District Commissioner and CEO of DDMA, Cachar, also directed all departments and stakeholders to extend full cooperation. The District Commissioner will remain overall in charge.

With this dedicated 24×7 control room, the administration aims to provide a reliable safety net, allowing the people of Cachar to celebrate Durga Puja with peace of mind.
