Silchar: The ABVP Assam University Unit held a floral tribute ceremony on the 69th death anniversary of Dr B.R Ambedkar, observed nationwide as Mahaparinirvan Diwas. ABVP marks the day as Samarasta Diwas, highlighting social harmony and collective responsibility.

Students and research scholars took part in the programme, recalling Ambedkar’s contribution to education, equality, constitutional values and social justice. Speakers noted that his ideas continue to guide young people across the country, reinforcing the belief that education remains the strongest tool for empowerment and reform.

The gathering reaffirmed a commitment to uphold Ambedkar’s vision of a society grounded in dignity, inclusivity and informed citizenship.

The event was attended by members of the Assam University community, including representatives from the ABVP Assam Unit, Assam University Research Scholars’ Forum and the AUS Students’ Forum.
