Affordable Shopkeepers’ State Conference Held at Dibrugarh

Minister Kaushik Rai appreciated the role of small traders and shopkeepers in strengthening the local economy and serving common people

Dibrugarh: The second day of the 32nd State Conference of the All Assam Affordable Businessmen Association was held at Tilai Village Market in Dibrugarh on Monday. The event was organized under the service and hospitality of the Dibrugarh District Affordable Businessmen Association.

Barak Valley Development Department Minister Kaushik Rai attended the programme as the chief guest. Speaking at the open meeting, the minister expressed happiness over being part of an organization that has worked for the life security and welfare of affordable shopkeepers for the last 32 years. He appreciated the role of small traders and shopkeepers in strengthening the local economy and serving common people.

Several prominent personalities were present at the programme. Among them were president of the Dibrugarh Development Authority Asim Hazarika, president of the All Assam Affordable Businessmen Association Dharanidhar Bora, secretary Harinarayan Dutta, adviser Arun Deka, Hiren Patar, Mohan Chandra Bora, Bishnu Das, vice-president Haren Nath, Sukumar Wari, Sadananda Regan and Lachit Along.

Hundreds of people from different parts of the area attended the conference. The programme highlighted issues faced by affordable shopkeepers and discussed measures for their social and financial security.
