The All-India Committee of AIDYO has expressed complete solidarity with the demands raised by the trade unions and has called for making the strike a success

Silchar: The youth organisation AIDYO (All India Democratic Youth Organisation) has extended its full support to the All-India General Strike called by central trade unions on July 9.
The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is aggressively pushing to implement four new labour codes by dismantling 29 existing labour laws. These new codes represent a major assault on the hard-earned rights of millions of workers and mark a dangerous shift toward increased exploitation.
This move is nothing but a continuation of the anti-worker, pro-corporate policies of liberalization, privatization, and globalization first introduced by the Congress government in the early 1990s.
The present government is openly bowing down to the demands of corporate interests, leaving workers increasingly vulnerable and insecure. India is home to the world’s largest youth population, with an average age of just 29 years.
Instead of creating secure and dignified employment opportunities, the government is rapidly privatizing national and public enterprises. This is pushing a large section of Indian youth toward an uncertain and dismal future.
Despite the existence of lakhs of vacancies in various government sectors, neither the central nor the state governments are taking any concrete steps to fill these posts. Permanent jobs have become a distant dream for young people.
The vacancies are increasingly being filled on a contractual, outsourced, or daily wage basis—depriving the youth of job security and basic rights.
The All-India Committee of AIDYO has expressed complete solidarity with the demands raised by the trade unions and has called for making the strike a success.
