Ambikeshwar Shiva Temple Celebrates Its Foundation Day

Silchar: The 17th foundation day of the Ambikeshwar Shiva Temple in Ambicapatty was observed with religious devotion and cultural vibrancy on Saturday. The temple, a prominent Sanatani shrine in Silchar, witnessed the participation of around a thousand devotees throughout the day.

Festivities began at dawn with traditional rituals including aarti, yajna, and chanting of Vedic mantras, performed in strict adherence to Hindu customs. The spiritual proceedings culminated in the distribution of maha-prasad in the afternoon, adding to the joy of the gathering.

Former temple committee president Sushil Kumar Kar and secretary Siddhartha Banik expressed pride in the temple’s growing spiritual and cultural relevance. “Ambikeshwar Shiva Temple has become a beacon of faith in Silchar. It is deeply cherished by the local community,” they said.

The event was made possible through the efforts of several volunteers and committee members, including chief advisor Nihar Ranjan Paul, president Monotosh Paul, vice-president Sandeep Bhattacharjee, and executive members Kripasindhu Deb, Bikash Deb, Angshuman Gupta, Tubai Purkayastha, Abhishek Deb, Krishna Deb, Soma Deb, Turani Gupta, and Jaya Kar.
