Hailakandi: An art competition on the theme of global warming was held at Gurusthanam Play School, Hailakandi, on Saturday as part of activities for the Promoting North East Integration Rally 2026.

The event was organised in collaboration with Ankanshree Fine Arts Institutions and supported by the Rotary Club of Hailakandi. Children from different age groups took part and expressed their thoughts on climate change through drawings and paintings.

The young participants used bright colours and simple ideas to show the dangers of rising temperatures, melting ice, pollution, and the need to protect nature. Many artworks carried strong messages on saving trees, water, and wildlife.

Organisers said the aim of the competition was to create awareness about global warming among children and also to promote unity and harmony in the North East through creative activities. Teachers and parents appreciated the effort and praised the students for their imagination and concern for the planet.

At the end of the programme, participants were encouraged to continue learning about environmental issues and play an active role in protecting the Earth.
