Central Prabhari Officer Suvasish Das Reviews Progress, Visits Lakhipur Block

Silchar: A high-level review meeting of the Aspirational Blocks Programme for Lakhipur Block was held at the New Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Cachar, with a focus on outcome-driven governance and inclusive development.

The meeting was chaired by Suvasish Das, IFoS, Director, e-Governance (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, who has been nominated as the Central Prabhari Officer for Lakhipur Block.
District Commissioner of Cachar Mridul Yadav, IAS, Co-District Commissioner of Lakhipur Dhrubajyoti Pathak, ACS, Assistant Commissioner Lakshyajeet Gogoi, ACS, along with senior district officials and representatives of line departments, were present.
A detailed presentation reviewed Lakhipur’s performance under the Aspirational Blocks Programme, highlighting progress across key indicators. Improvements were noted in health and nutrition, education, agriculture, and service delivery.

Discussions centred on converting policy intent into measurable outcomes at the grassroots, with emphasis on sustained monitoring, inter-departmental convergence, and citizen-centric governance.
Addressing the meeting, District Commissioner Mridul Yadav said the Aspirational Blocks Programme should be viewed as a transformative governance tool rather than a ranking exercise. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts, timely interventions, and real-time problem-solving to accelerate development outcomes.
Central Prabhari Officer Suvasish Das appreciated the district administration’s structured and data-driven approach. He urged departments to sharpen their focus on key performance indicators through innovation and stronger inter-departmental collaboration.

He observed that aspirational blocks can emerge as models of good governance when evidence-based decision-making, community participation, and innovation work together.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to intensify people-centric governance initiatives to ensure that developmental interventions lead to improved service delivery and greater public trust.
As part of his engagement, Suvasish Das also undertook extensive field visits across the Aspirational Block. He visited the 23 No. Jirighat Bazar Anganwadi Centre, Nandankanan TG LP School, Jirighat Mini Primary Health Centre, and agriculture-linked initiatives including a pineapple production site and the Hmar Agro Organic Producer Company office at Hmarkhawlien.
The visits offered first-hand insights into the implementation of health, nutrition, education, and livelihood programmes under the Aspirational Blocks framework.
