CM said the scheme marked the first step in transforming women into successful entrepreneurs

Patharkandi: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday distributed cheques to 16,000 women of Patharkandi under the Mukhyamantrir Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMMUA). Each beneficiary received a seed fund of Rs.10,000 to begin her entrepreneurial journey.

The initiative, aimed at empowering women as entrepreneurs, is expected to bring long-term socio-economic change in Barak Valley.
Over the next three years, beneficiaries across Assam will receive a total of Rs.85,000 each, helping them build sustainable livelihoods and move towards becoming “Lakhpati Didis.” More than 35 lakh women are expected to benefit from the scheme statewide.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said the scheme marked the first step in transforming women into successful entrepreneurs and highlighted the government’s vision of placing women at the forefront of development in Barak Valley.
The event drew large participation from the people of Patharkandi in Sribhumi district. On the same occasion, Dr. Sarma also inaugurated the BJP Mandal Office.
